CHURCH HISTORY
In 1907, our Church was organized by Reverend Joe Dodson. The Church was named Union Baptist. It was located off North Main Street in Chase City, Virginia, in the Fairview Community. Worship services were held the third Sunday of every month by Reverend Dodson.
On July 7, 1917, Church Trustee’s Singer Richards, Sam Daniel, Chase Barnes, NC Bagby and Ephriam Mason paid four hundred and fifty dollars to EW Hudgins and Lucy Morton Hudgins for a tract of land on which our present Church was built.
Since 1907, a number of ministers have been called to Shepherd the Greater Union flock. Each one bringing the uniqueness granted to them under the anointing of God. They include: the Honorables J. Dodson, Bagby, Gooch, Ruffin, Dailey, Burton, Lewis, Crawley, Shelton, Ritchie, Kizzie, Fogg, Terry, L. Graves, J. Hargrove, Sr., and Linda B. Goode and now Dr. Kendall J.
